Sears Tele-Games / Atari 2600 Console Restoration
Bottom shell casing of the unit.
Was full of dirt and debris and other nasty bug related stuff! No telling what is inside your console after all these years.
The bezel was cleaned, then 3200 grit sandpaper
was used to remove the silver edging that was
fading and worn off. We completely removed
what was left and it gave it a more clean uniform
look.
The main board that houses the cart slot was removed from the pot-metal housing and all the solder joints and points were re-soldered and flux was added to freshen up the electrical connections.
this is what should be used: Fry Technologies Cookson Elect Soldering Paste Flux & Brush AM51011 (Google Affiliate Ad)
The top shell looks great after it has been wash with our "special mixture" What we use cleans all dirt, doesnt effect the plastic, gives it a protective-like coating and makes it look great!
these are the two items you need:

The 6 banger! Six switch version that housed more options and features that the 4 switch that were way more common. This board connects to the main cart slot board by a wire harness and fastens to the pot-metal box with two self tapping screws.
Best place for the cheap phillips case screws and self tapping screws is Ace Hardware. I couldnt find the link to share with you (Ill find them!) It is cheaper to buy a few than a box!
These were original foam gaskets that came out of the unit. You can make your own by getting a sheet of foam, using a 1" hole punch from a craft store punching out your new ones. You have to cut the squares with a craft knife or razer!

This is the original rf cable. One end,(the smaller tipped) is the one that fits on the main board and is attached to the console. the other is used to attach to the TV. Remember the old manual switch boxes, well you dont need those anymore. One single coax adapter allows you to hook it to the coax/tv spot on your tv! Steren Weather - Sealed TaperSeal F Connector - RG - 6 - 25 - Pack - 200-029-25 (Google Affiliate Ad)
We also like to use these 3x4 zip bags with white labels on them to help organize your parts. This is where you can find them for cheap: Ziploc 94603 Double Zipper Bags- Plastic- 2 gal- Clear w/Write-On Panel- 100/Carton (Google Affiliate Ad)
